I was real excited to learn crochet all over again. Been years since I’ve made Afghans. First part of the book is more history than anything than it teaches the basics in black and white. Big section for left handed people, which I am not, than on to projects you can do. But in a book you can’t just click on a link for the instructions!!! So very upset. No where did it say that the projects were in the ebook only. I wasted all that money. My very old crochet book is far better and it also has just black and white pictures. Don’t waste your money.
I teach knitting and crochet and got this book for the left-handed instructions for beginning crochet students. These are not bad, but could be better. This book is very inconsistent in using drawings and photographs to go with the written instructions. The right-handed instructions have illustrations and the left-handed have photographs. The instructions for both hands tend to skip important steps in places -- for example, where exactly do you insert your hook? The instructions for the patterns are bad. They use terminology a beginner won't know yet and only have pictures of the finished project. A couple have illustrations of a stitch chart for that pattern but nowhere is there an explanation of stitch charts and how to read them. Not even a list of which symbols are used for different crochet stitches. At least one pattern has a stitch in it that is not taught anywhere in the book. My advice: stay away from this book if you are truly a beginner.
Very disappointed. Book only shows projects and says click here. You can’t click a link in a book!! Old fashioned instructions. I’ve been crocheting over 45 years and thought this would be a good gift for a friend just learning. Not! A wast of money.
1, It doesn't even cover such basics as attaching two knitted or crocheted squares together. 2, There are no patterns. Reader is told to click "HERE" (on the printed page) to get patterns, but you can't click the printed page.

Includes patterns, but they are NOT actually in the book --- you must click on a link to go on-line to get the pattern.I deducted 1 point because the actual patterns are not in the book.
Interesting and Fun to read! This is a great guide for beginners to learn how to crochet easily and simply trying to pick up more crocheting patterns to try out. It provide clear & precise instructions with picture illustrations that are easy to understand and follow. It also provide some intermediate crocheting tips & patterns to hone your skills. Highly recommended!
This book is one of the best I read on this topic- you will like it. Before reading this one i thought it was an average book but after reading this now i can say that its an extraordinary one. Just fall in love with this book.
